A space to think - tomorrows London

Registration is closed for this event
LVSC are holding a day long conference to kick start the New Year. We have seen the comprehensive spending review, while 2016 brings the London mayoral elections and further progression of the devolution programme. The conference will provide the VCSE sector with a space to think about what these and other challenges mean for their organisations and the people they work with. Exploring the political, economic, social and technological challenges and opportunities facing our sector, we will explore strategies to not just survive but thrive, to ensure the best outcomes for Londoners

During the highly interactive day participants will have an opportunity to think about how will the national and London picture will impact on their work, cohort and organisation and in the afternoon open space sessions we will explore how organisations can thrive rather than just survive. We will hear from a range of speakers including Nick Davies (Public Services Manager, NCVO), Tim Wilson (City Bridge Trust), Vivienne Hayes (Women's Resource Centre) and take part in breakout sessions focussing on:

1) Continuing to meet the need: working with Local Authorities following the CSR.[Claire Mansfield, Head of Research, New Local Government Network; Cllr Farah Hussain, Cabinet Member, Redbridge Fairness Commission; Ross Diamond, Chief Officer, Redbridge CVS]

2) Devolution and a changing London: what does it mean for the VCSE? [Ben Rogers, Director,Centre for London]

3) Wooing and working with the private sector: strategies and insider information [Dominic Pinkney, Chief Executive Officer, Works 4U; Kawika Solidum, Chief Executive Officer, Beyond Me]
