When should an employer Investigate?

This FREE training is for voluntary and community sector employers only. You must provide the details of your voluntary and community sector organisation when registering.

There are many occasions when an employer may wish to undertake an internal investigation:

  •     Disciplinary proceedings, for example, allegations of misconduct
  •     Managing performance related issues
  •     Dealing with ill-health issues
  •     Grievances
  •     Allegations of harassment and bullying

 This workshop will help you;

  •     Understand the legal requirements of conducting an investigation and when it may apply
  •     To consider the practical aspects of conducting an investigation
  •     Structure an investigation plan and a framework investigation report
  •     Prepare for an investigation interview
  •     Consider difficulties which may arise

This workshop will be run by Shirley Briggs

Shirley managed the PEACe service for LVSC until March 2016 and had worked for PEACe since 2006. Shirley supported many hundreds of voluntary and community organisations in that time. Before joining PEACe Shirley worked for many years as a HR Manager in the social housing sector and latterly worked independently before joining PEACe. She is a qualified counsellor with a small private practice and has also trained as a workplace mediator.


In the event of a no-show without 24 hours' notice of cancellation, LVSC reserves the right to charge a fee of £50 per person. This is to ensure our administrative, catering and booking costs are covered.
